Welcome to the DOCServices Inc. (DOCS) website. DOCS has been providing senior citizens services in Northeast Oklahoma for over 35 years through an on-going arrangement with Grand Gateway Area Agency on Aging. We began in 1980 as the Ottawa County Homemaker Program providing services to residents of Ottawa County and have expanded over the years to provide meals and core services to residents of Craig and Delaware Counties also.
We operate both the Miami and Grove Senior Center Kitchens providing over 500 meals daily to homebound clients along with our congregate setting clients located in the 9-Tribes Tower dining room in Miami, Community room of the Commerce Public Housing Authority in Commerce, the Grove Senior Center, Afton Senior Center, Bluejacket Senior Center and Burroughs Manor located in Vinita. We also provide Meals on Wheels service to residents of Delaware, Ottawa and Craig Counties along with our ADvantage Frozen Meal Program. Along with our meal services, we also offer in-home chore services for those who qualify.
Proper nutrition is one of the best predictors for long-term health and wellness and can be a key factor in maintaining the quality of life for senior citizens. As you can see we offer a variety of quality nutrition services to senior residents of Delaware, Ottawa and Craig Counties in accordance with statewide nutrition programs. All menus provided through the Senior Nutrition Program are written by a Registered Dietitian and meet at least 1/3 of the recommended daily allowances of vitamins and minerals for seniors.
We hope that you find our website educational and helpful, if you have any questions please feel free to contact us at any time for further assistance.
Kum & Go to Donate Excess Food to DOCServices Inc.
DOCServices Inc. is proud to announce that it will be receiving donations from Kum & Go Store located on the Will Rogers Turnpike. Other Kum & Go Stores across the US already participate in similar programs and the Vinita Kum & Go also wanted to be good stewards of any food that wasn’t being utilized at their location.
DOCServices picks up totes of food that is still fresh but must move off inventory shelves at the store. They pick up from the store three days per week items that include packaged fresh fruit, breakfast sandwiches, bread milk and so much more. These items will be distributed to clients throughout the DOCServices Inc service area in Delaware, Ottawa and Craig Counties.
Because these food items are still good quality, the Kum & Go stores across the nation are donating the items instead of disposing of it. Meg Kaylo, Kum & Go Sustainability Associate is very thankful for the partnership and is glad the food will get used through an organization that helps seniors.
DOCServices Inc. Executive Director B.J. Mooney said, “We are very thankful for this donation of food items which will be served to our clients in our three county coverage area. Thank you to Kum & Go for selecting DOCServices Inc as their charity of choice”
The donations to DOCServices Inc, from Kum & Go was made possible through the coordination between Kum & Go and the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, which selected DOCServices Inc. as the recipient.
